Coastal County Review

Editorial policy

Coastal County Review aims to make place and geography legible through accurate, carefully framed writing. We explain what supports a claim, distinguish interpretation from description and correct errors openly.

Accuracy and sources

Writers check factual claims against suitable published material and use maps, records or reference works where relevant. A map is evidence of how information is represented, not proof of every conclusion drawn from it. We take care with dates, boundaries and place-name explanations, and signal uncertainty where sources or interpretations differ.

Independence

Editorial choices are made for relevance to readers and fit with our subject, not in exchange for favourable coverage. A contributor or partner does not receive control over independent editorial conclusions. We do not present unsupported claims as established facts.

Corrections

If you spot an error, use the Contact page and identify the article and the point in question. We review correction requests and amend material when warranted, making significant changes clear to readers where appropriate.

Partner material and illustrations

Paid or otherwise partner-supported material is identified clearly so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial coverage. Partnerships do not guarantee editorial endorsement. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; when used, they are labelled, and they are not presented as documentary photographs or evidence of a real place.
